Citizens Assisting Police in Apex (CAPA) members assist the Apex Police Department without pay in a variety of functions. They do not carry weapons and cannot make arrests. CAPA members help provide assistance at public events and assist the Police Department in support roles at events such as Child/Medical ID Program, Peakfest, Apex Night Out, Christmas with a Cop, Town Parades, Traffic Control and more. Before becoming CAPA member, a volunteer must successfully complete Apex’s Citizens Police Academy (CPA).
